I live in Georgia and still haven’t eaten a peach

Hello from Georgia, pals.

I wanted to give y’all a quick little update on life down here. I’ve been here for almost a month now and I actually really love the heat. Big summer gal. I live in a house right off AIM’s campus with 5 other girls including our house mentor. I love them a lot. Our whole CGA class consists of 3 guys and 13 girls. Poor guys. We’re led by four really solid humans. AIM has leadership that I really enjoy being under. I also got a part time job at Starbucks! A pretty big group of us work there so that’s been really fun.

Here’s some insight on what an average week in the life looks like. On Mondays we have staff worship at 9am. That’s just when all of AIM staff comes together and we get to worship and encourage each other before we go forth in our weeks. After worship we start class, so usually around 10. Monday’s are our long days, we go until 5 with an hour break for lunch. Tuesdays – Fridays class is from 9-12, leaving our afternoons for work and volunteering. When my volunteer stuff gets rollin’, I’ll give you insight to what that is. Weekends are left open for work and living life. My CGA class also really likes each other so we spend quite a bit of time together even when we don’t have to. Last weekend some of us decided to go camping in North Carolina at a really cool place called Max Patch. If you’re ever over on this side of the country, I highly recommend. In my free time I just like to go make new friends and hangout with the ones I already have. It’s a good time.

Class usually looks like either a teaching or discussion. Whatever we’re taught though is always discussed, I love that a lot. We’ve talked about failure and risk, wholistic living, and this week we talked about spiritual gifts. Currently we’re reading through a book called Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Peter Scazzero.

I’m very happy about my decision to do CGA (praise God lol), it’s been great and also very challenging so far. I’ll give you some more insight on that another time. If you wanna know more about my life down here, or what God is teaching me feel free to shoot me a text or facetime me!

See ya.

Oh! I’m also still fundraising! I have an upcoming deadline of $4,000 on September 30th so that gives me about a month to raise $1,300. If you’re inclined to invest financially go ahead and hit that donate button up top and it’ll take you through the process. Thanks!
